FAQs - Alliance Fuel

Questions and Answers

Q: How do I know your oil is top quality?
A: We purchase our oil from the same terminals as the major suppliers. The difference is that we can deliver it to you cheaper. The oil we buy is quality tested to make certain it meets all proper specifications.

Q: Do you have a minimum delivery requirement?
A: Yes—but it’s much lower than other fuel companies. We will deliver as little as 75 gallons of heating oil to your home, but it really pays to buy more oil if you can, because the more you order, the lower your per-gallon price. For example, if you buy 150 gallons instead of two deliveries of 75 gallons, you can save money because buying 150 gallons gets you a lower rate.

Q: How long will it take to receive my delivery?
A: Orders are processed in the order they are received.  Once your order is placed, we will give you a date range of when your order will be delivered.  Typically, the range is between 1-3 business days in the winter, but could be a little longer based on weather conditions and demand.  If you are experiencing an emergency or are dangerously low on fuel, please contact us and we will do our best to expedite your order.

Q: Where do I enter my promotion code on the website?
A: If you have a valid promotion code, you can enter it during the checkout process.

Q: How can I pay for my heating oil?
A: We accept all major credit cards and debit cards. We also accept checks and money orders.

Q: How do I know my credit card data and my personal data are secure?
A: Our website uses the latest, most secure encryption software; this software updates constantly to keep your information private.

Q: Why do you pre-authorize my credit or debit card for 10% more than my order total?
A: By pre-authorizing your card for 10% more, we can apply any applicable taxes to your order once your delivery is made.

Q: When will you finalize my payment?
A: We will finalize your payment, including any applicable taxes, once your delivery is made.

Q: Will I get an invoice in the mail?
A: No, you will not get an invoice in the mail. You will receive a delivery ticket, which will be left at the time of delivery. This will tell you how many gallons you had delivered and the price per gallon.

Q: How can I place my order?

Q: My heating system breaks down a lot—do you sell new equipment?
A: Alliance is a fuel delivery company only, but we have partnerships with other companies that are experts at installing new heating systems. They also have highly trained service technicians. Please call us today and we’ll be happy to put you in touch with our partners. We can assure you that you will receive a competitive price and professional installation.

Q: Can you repair my boiler/furnace if it breaks down?
A: Yes. We now have our very own certified HVAC technicians that can repair your boiler/furnace. We also offer service plans that include preventive maintenance to keep your heating system running smoothly and efficiently—and to help you avoid costly repairs. For more on this, please call.

Q: What if your price goes up before I receive my delivery?
A: Fuel prices can go up and down on a daily basis. Regardless of how much time elapses between your order and your delivery, you will always be charged the price that was in effect when you placed your order.

Q: What happens if less oil than I ordered is delivered?
A: If you paid by credit card or debit card, you will only be charged for the oil that was delivered. If by taking less oil than you ordered you drop into a higher pricing tier, your price per gallon will be adjusted accordingly; based on the price of oil the day your order was placed.

Q: What happens if more oil than I ordered is delivered?
A: It is very rare that this occurs, but it does inadvertently happen from time to time. In an instance where we over-deliver, you will be responsible for paying the difference. We reserve the right to charge you for any overage, up to the amount pre-authorized, without contacting you.
